9/30/2015

Monday night we did AFL with Ange and Dave. My team(steelers) played Dave's team(49ers) so we watched my big win while eating pizza and apple pie.
Tuesday I worked in a new nursing home. It was big and fancy. I was able to treat 3 lymphoedema patients as well. Best of all I got out of work early so I had time to eat and shower before Kol Nidrie services. I had PB&J roti and juice. I went to services both Tuesday and Wednesday at East Melbourne Synagogue. I'm still not 100% sold but it's growing on me. I did break fast after Yon Kippur with Dan and his family, I brought an Abbie inspired salad. It was delicious and refreshing.
Thursday Ange and I went climbing and for Korean it as good we hadn't done much just the 2 of us in a while.
Friday night we went out with my coworkers for LaserTag it was great fun.

Over the weekend Damien and I were fairly lazy. We had gotten quite a bit behind on house work so got caught back up. Saturday we went to a friend's commedy show and then Damien's mum came over for dinner Sunday night. I made an amazing cheesecake.
I love this one and it's so easy to do.

This week have been good but very busy. I went up to Cann River on Thursday. I stopped at my new favourite restaurant, little prince. I had a taco, an dumpling, a quesadilla, and an ice cream filled macaroon. It may look like a large amount of food for one person but each item is only 1-2 bites
Damien tried to call and talk to me(hands free of course) while I was driving up but the service wasn't so good.
I had a fairly busy day at work so it was nearly dark by the time I finished. I went on a quick run through the rainforest before going in for the night.
I drove down a dirt road which promised to be beautiful but dead ended on me at the start of a river.
Saturday morning I had ambitions of going to farmer's markets. I had 7 on the list. I started out with a quick jog through cabbage tree palms.
Then I tried to go to the market in lake's entrance. When there was no market I settled for a 5km run. Where I saw seals on the rocks. Squint and you can see them too. We saw about 8 in total.
From there I headed to Bairnsdale for my favourite orchard. As usual he did not disappoint and I got 5 litres of apple juice. But I did miss the turn off for another market.
Next I headed toward Metung for a market and when I didn't see one I gave up an took a picture of this fountain.
From there I went to the sale market which was a bit quiet but I was able to get soap.
Driving along I tried to go to Wahalla for a market but took a wrong turn and ended up back on the highway home.
Next came the Warragul market which ended up just being a historical production. If you are keeping count we are 1 for 6 markets.
The last market I came into was the Drouin orchid show. It was absolutely spectacular.
I even took one home.
I got back into Melbourne and met Damien at his mum's house. We headed back into the city together to see a very funny show called "Bad Jews".
On Sunday Damien and I did a 6 hour orienteering event all over the west of Melbourne. We worked hard and got second overall out of around 30 teams.

שנה טובה! Last weekend I had part 2 of the lymphoedema course. It was so good. If I could do that everyday I would love work so much. We learned even more and got more free samples. I now have at least 10 trees worth of paperwork and several hundred dollars in free samples. This week at work has been a bit of a drag but I'm anxiously awaiting new possibilities.
I had a pretty great Rosh hashana. We went to a football game in the afternoon. Damien's team lost but it was still fun. We went to Dan's for my first Rosh hashana sedar. It was quick and informative. Plus the food was incredible. In the morning I went to serices at North Melbourne where I have been doing high holy day services for a while. It's growing on me a bit I think.
On Monday night we went to the awards ceremony for Damien's 10th Melbourne marathon. Sorry about the picture quality they wouldn't let me any closer.
The one other majorly exciting thing this week is I just organised Valentine's weekend. Damien and I are going to the sold out performance of welcome to nightvale in Melbourne. :)

9/9/2015

It's starting to seem that I am always a week behind. One of these days I'll get back on schedule. This week I have spent a bit of time practicing lymphoedema with my professional mentor Kate. She is fantastic and has taught me so much. Now that is practicing as a student not as a professional...yet. I have also been working. I have a new private client in the age care business. He is quite the sweetie. I had a work meeting in the city last Thursday and we went out to dinner afterward. The restaurant had the most amazing jar of Nutella
Over the weekend I went to my friend's for lunch and carcassone. He made ceviche and I was sad that I couldn't eat it.
Then we went rock climbing and out for poker with my rock climbing gang. Sunday was run day as the marathon is only 5 weeks away now. We did a 15km run with a bit of bordering in the middle.

Now to catch up on what has been happening since I got back...
I got a new car!
It has been doing great. I have almost 3000km on it already.
The week I got back I did the first set of face to face days for my lymphoedema course. It was amazing fun! The days were long but they fed us far too much coffee so we were all bouncing off the wall all day. I have been practicing on friends non-stop since then.
The following weekend I was up to Cann River. I went by myself with my new car this trip. But I still stopped at all our favourite spots.
The work was really good too. I was booked 9-5pm. After work I went for a quick 10km run but it was getting dark so I tried to get back quickly. On my way back home I stopped for coffee
Brunch:
Apples and apple cider
And at the car museum
I also had a quick stop at an art museum in Cowwarr.
It was basic but a good stop.
Other then that we have been eating and running and practicing lymphoedema.
