If you had a theory exam at noon what would you do I the morning?
I started off by getting a nice outfit together so I would look smart. I evaluated the motion as I biked into campus. I tried to determine if the activity was open chain or close chain. Please let me know if you have an opinion. For my bike the activity is open chain through my legs and close chain through my arms except for when I'm going up a hill and then it gets a bit harder to tell. After I showered and got dressed I stumbled across the ride to uni breakfast on the wrong day of the week. I grabbed some toast and headed off to anatomy lab. So far I had enjoyed a pretty good pre-exam morning. That ended when I walked in. We were given so much detail on brain and spinal anatomy that my head hurt. They tell me that headaches come from irritations in the dura but I think it may have been the size of my brain growing. After that we had a lecture on the brainstem. We started with anatomy and ended with a cranial to caudal evaluation of all possible outcomes from minor pressure to death of the patient. After out imaginary patient died we rushed off to take the exam. Yikes! I woke up ready for the exam but was totally not ready after the morning.
The exam was 5 questions and we had 50 minutes to complete the exam. I think I could have taken 5 hours and still not have finished properly. The exam was
1. If a person has pain of 5/10 with knee extension how can you test quad length.
2. A 72 year old man puts 75%of his weight on his right leg when standing up from a chair. Formulate 3 hypothesis and determine how to test each of them. Each one must examine a different functional aspect
3. When doing a tennis serve what motions of the scapula allow full abduction of the arm. Explain 2 synergistic movements that this movement contains.
4. Name all of the actions of every muscle in the arm and forearm while screwing a screw into a wall.
5. In an ulnar nerve lesion at the wrist is it harder to hold a pen or a key why?
Fun huh?
After the exam we were all going to go to the pub. Unfortunately we didn't get ourselves organized fast enough and most of the group dispersed. Tory and I were left and decided to skip the pub and get hot dogs. I know. I'm not much of a hot dog person but the snag shack has wonderful 100%chicken hot dogs in a variety of toppings. I ended up with a bruschetta one. So good. I went to take a picture and found that my phone was dead:( after hot dogs we got bubble tea and went dress shipping for the ball in 2 weeks. It was a fun walk but we both came up empty handed. I headed home around 5 and have been a bum ever since. It feels so good to not have any major projects due till the end of the month:)
