It was a Cann valley week. I am really enjoying going up there. Damien came up with me again so we did a bit of exploring. I only had 3 patients so it was a quiet trip. This trip had 4 waterfalls, 2 caves, 2 lookouts, 2 markets, 2 rivers, and 5CD's.

Friday afternoon we took a short trip north of Cann River and found the beehive creek waterfall. (Sorry no pictures ). It was really cold. We tried to swim and lasted about 30 seconds each. Friday evening we stayed at the bush nursing centre and ate cauliflower streaks and beet green chips whilst playing monopoly. I won. It was a very long game because I had been winning for a while but refused to bankrupt Damien as I wanted to build an empire.
Saturday morning we headed to Orbost where we heard that there was a market. We didn't see it immediately so we asked at the visitor's centre. She had no idea that there was even a market. After a quick look we found it. It was great. We got 5CD's and a wooden serving platter for $7. We picked up Jimmy Barnes-an Australian icon, Shania Twain, Reba, Shakira, and Whittney Houston. Shania was great, Shakira was good, Jimmy Barnes was a bit bland, Whittney's album was only songs that featured her not her major songs, and we accidentally picked up Reba-for my broken heart, so that was sad. We also got some wonderful lamb sausages. We had a quick breakfast stop at a basic but delicious cafe before continuing to Buchan. Buchan is famous for it's beautiful caves the 2 open for tours are called fairy cave and royal cave. We showed up 1/2 an hour before the first tour and they were both sold out. Luckily there was an extra tour running so we got to tour Royal cave. It was beautiful but very fenced off to keep people from touching.

After our tour we went on a bit of a jog around the area where we made it to our second waterfall, spring creek falls. On the way back the path took us to the granite pools just above the falls. I took a dip and Damien called me crazy. It was freezing cold and the water was so clear on the black rocks the pools looked infinite but it was exceedingly refreshing. We continued running around and got to moon cave we didn't have any lights except for the glowing hands on our watches the cave seemed infinite. We climbed above the cave and took the path back down to the car to grab lights.

With flashlights we saw that they cave might have been infinite but there was a fence blocking us from going any further about 5m from where we had turned back. From the cave we drove north to where we had heard that there were more caves and a lookout. We missed the turn for the caves and lookout but found the third waterfall, W tree falls. It was just off the road and you could get right on top of it and look over. We got back in the car and I insisted on driving because I was becoming increasingly car sick. We found the sign for the lookout and had to go through a fence and a paddock to get up there it was worth while as it was absolutely stunning.
By that point the sun was starting to set we quickly headed toward the camp site. We camped on the confluence of the Buchan and the snowy rivers in a place called bally hooley.
It was a "hike in" camp site meaning that we had to park about 75m from where we put up tent. I set up our tent while Damien tried to make a fire. He was unsuccessful, I padded our tent with 2 sleeping mats, 3 doonas, 3 sleeping bags, and ticket to ride cards. For dinner I made chilli beat greens and pasta on our little camp stove. As per camping tradition we played ticket to ride and listened to night vale all evening.
Sunday morning I woke up to the sun rise. It was beautiful mixed with the fog on the rivers. We followed all the paths around the campsite, the one under construction was beautiful but the open one was muddy and I slid into the river.
Our first stop of the day was one tree look out. Just a short drive from the campsite it offered a completely different view.
Next we found waterfall number 3 basin falls was a small detour but definitely worth it.
The sign said 1 hour return. Luckily it only took us 30 minutes because we were a bit tight with time.
From the falls we went to sale(yes there is a town called sale). The market there was much easier to find. The sale market had fabulous plants I bought a beet plant, a dill plant, and a lime tree. Damien bought goats milk soap.
After sale we stopped in Yarramon for lunch. There was a cafe serving smoothies and a small shop selling L&Pchocolate. Strange but delicious. We made it back to the car rental place with 30 minutes to spare which was a good thing because the car was a bit messy and we had to pack everything up.
After we lugged everything home we went back out for a game of bowling. Highpoint had 3 games for $15, sadly Damien beat me 3 games in a row.
